This week we are making a stiffened Doily Bowl.

I purchased my doilies at Michaels for $1.50.

Please heed the following warnings:
*NOTE: I have not put the Epsom Salts version of this recipe in the oven and have no idea if it would be a bad idea. I suggest if you use epsom salts, to let it dry naturally. :)
*Something about the combination of Sugar and Water gets very HOT! Be very careful!
*If you decide to dry your bowl in the oven, like me, please use a LOW setting
and watch it constantly. I left mine in for 25 minutes total, checking it every few minutes.
*I recommend using 100% Cotton Doilies, if drying in the oven. I do not know how acrylic or wool would react.
*Must have adult supervision!

You can simply let the bowl dry naturally. Just put in in a dry and safe spot, it will take about 3 days.

If you are worried about ants, just substitute the sugar, for epsom salts, or spray it with a good sealer. :)

Thanks for watching!
xoxo,
Amy
