.451 Parker Hale Whitworth rifle at 1,500 yards

Designed: 1854-1857
Manufacturer: Whitworth Rifle Company
Produced: 1857-1865

I'm in the process of designing a custom bullet for the .451 Whitworth rifle, which will remain very stable/accurate beyond 1,500 yards.

After 5 shots, I did something I have never done in 30+ years.... I accidentally let the rifle slide off where I had it resting and it fell to the concrete, breaking part of the rear sight and the anti-canting device.

I have no doubt that I would have hit the 1,500 yard 17-inch target had this not happened.

I'm repairing it and hopefully I can get it up and running within the next few days.

The projectile is a custom 490 grain paper-patched & hollow based. I'm using 95 grains (by volume) of Goex Ole English Match Grade Black Powder.
