Strictly for educational purposes! How to Root Andy, Andyroid Emulator for Mac only. Didn't see any video guides up yet on this for apple users so here you go. Need Windows root? NOTE THAT GOOGLE SHORTENS LINKS BELOW SO FOR THE HOMEBREW INSTALL LINK IT IS BETTER TO COPY AND PASTE FROM THEIR SITE DIRECT LIKE IN THE VID!!

Make sure bluestacks isn't running in the background or it will cause this to fail

NOTE: I missed a step in the video, you will NEED XCODE prior to installing homebrew in order to get it to prompt for CLT or command Line tools installation. If you dont already have xcode and are unable to DL 7.1 from app store and CLT, here is short video showing how to obtain older packages, you may as well get CLT at the same time as XCODE if you need to install XCODE.

Open Terminal by going into Finder then go into Applications and open the Utilities folder. Dock Terminal if you like.
To dock, right click Terminal go into Options and hit "keep in dock"

To install Homebrew

Run this line in Terminal:
ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL"

You may be prompted to download Xcode resources from the app store if you haven't already, obviously proceed with the installation if need be :P

Install Java JDK 8
Click accept License Agreement then you can download the dmg file and install

Open Terminal again and type in the commands below to install ADB and update:
brew install fb-adb
android update sdk --no-ui --filter 'platform-tools'

Download the Superuser files (Google Drive)

Get Unrarx if you need

Extract superuser files to your desktop (critical to extract to desktop for cd code to work)

Now open Andy (important or the next step wont work!!)

To push Superuser to Andy, Type in Terminal:
cd desktop
adb install Superuser.apk
adb push su /storage/sdcard0/
adb shell
mount -o remount,rw /system
mv /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/su.old
cp /storage/sdcard0/su /system/xbin/su
chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su
mount -o remount,ro /system

In order to install apps you cannot get from the Playstore...
Place the app on your desktop
After dragging to desktop, click the name field ONCE to name it to something simpler to make terminal command easier
Open Terminal
Type in cd desktop
Type in adb install yourappnamehere.apk

Most of this guide is courtesy of eaeapepe from thanks to a comment posted in there, i just made a video showing from scratch how to get home brew, how to add the files to desktop to add them to andy. and then how to build upon that concept gathered from eaeapepe's comment in order to use adb to push your modded apks or hack tools, etc

Your comments are appreciated below. Thank you to those that let me know this worked for you too. If you have any requests feel free to leave a comment below. I much enjoy finding fixes for various android related problems most especially with the emulators.
