With this multi-purpose apparatus you can have fun and learn many principles of electro-magnetic induction. The primary coil is made by winding 2-kgs of insulated copper wire on a spool. The inside is stuffed with big nails and cycle spokes as core material to increase the field. The Primary can be directly connected to 220-Volt AC mains for short durations.
The Secondary coils are made of copper wire with various numbers - 20, 40, 60, 80 or 100 turns. As the secondary is inserted in the PVC tube at top the bulbs are dim as they are far from the Primary. On lowering they get brighter. Less turns means less induction and dim light. More turns means brighter bulbs.
On inserting non-magnetic Aluminum Discs with holes they float because of magnetic induction.
The Primary acts like a strong electro magnet and can lift lots of nails.
When two magnets mounted on a spoke are brought near the Primary with a pulsating field they spin like an AC motor.
