After seven-and-half years of blood, sweat and tears, the Patrick A. Tinnell Memorial Sports Complex has officially opened in Lake Havasu, in remembrance of the late Patrick A. Tinnell, an avid BMXer who tragically lost his life at age 26 in 2006 while serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq. Thousands gathered during the opening ceremony of the new skatepark to dedicate the complex to Patrick as a legacy of the impact of love and passion for others in the community.
