In September 2011, the World population hit the 7 billion mark. A tenth of this world population are people living with disabilities, the World Health Organization estimates. Here at home in means that there are about 4 Million Kenyans with disability.
One of them is 46 year old " Njeri" deaf sex worker for over 16 years now.

Persons with disabilities have the same sexual and reproductive health needs as everyone else. Yet this section of the population often faces barriers to information and services in these areas. Ignorance and cultural practices continue to hinder people with disabilities progress towards accessing important services in life.

Disabled people are distinctly disadvantaged when it comes to information and access to the tools which fight HIV and AIDS. In this three part series "Taken for Granted", our journalist Violet Otindo spent time with people with disabilities and filed this story
