How to Prevent Hair Loss and Maintain Thicker Hair

1. Air Dry as often as you can
Blow Drying and excessive heat can ultimately damage your hair and lead to breakage. Obviously avoiding it at all costs isn't something we can manage since it's an easy way to add volume to your hair. In cases where you need to use heat activated products, make sure to use a protectant spray just to ensure that your hair doesn't experience as much damage as possible.
Lack of proper nutrients is a major cause of hair fall and loss. A diet rich in Omega 3s, Iron, Lean proteins and leafy vegetables tend to promote more stable hair growth and reinforce the physical quality of your hair strands. Foods like nuts, lean meats, eggs, green vegetables, and sweet potatoes are all great examples.
You can also supplement your diet with a complex multi-vitamin and iron pills for those who suffer from bouts of anemia.
3. Hot Oil Treatments
These are a Godsend. Using Coconut, olive, castor or any essential oil will do. Heat the oil until it is slightly warm, apply to your hair for an hour, and rinse with shampoo. Once a week is all you need.
4. Combing your hair
Using a wide bristle brush is your best defence against breakage when detangling wet hair. Use a fine tooth brush for styling purposes.
5. Hair Masks
