Just bought my first smartphone ever. I thought this LG16C was such a smokin' deal at $30, I made a review about it. (The YouTube video grab shows the LG L15G Sunrise, which is identical, except it's GSM instead of CDMA.)

I start by discussing the Tracfone service, which doesn't offer much data, to see if it's a fit for you. (Update: Minutes roll over too.) Then I get to the specifics of the smartphone itself. The good: KitKat 4.4.2; does most things well, even with limited RAM; EV-DO Rev. A. The bad: It has a low viewing angle TFT screen, not IPS.

Update: Was perusing some youtube reviews of this phone's predecessor, the LG Optimus Fuel, which reviewers say has a better screen. (Albeit smaller at 3.5".) The Fuel allows the home screen to rotate to Landscape. The Lucky does not. I guess that LG knew the screen wasn't as good on the Lucky for rotation of the Home screen. (You can buy the Fuel refurbished for $10 from Tracfone. But the Fuel only has EV-DO Rev. 0, which means slower data connection than Rev. A.)

As an aside, as a Christian, I don't believe in "luck" (as in the phone's name, "Lucky," in the superstitious sense. But from man's perspective, "time and chance" happen to all, per Ecclesiastes 9:11
